But this is a Texas Grass so probably someone from Texas can get it quicker. any ideas appreciated. It has very soft grass blades, grows very thick in a clump. Usually no seeds showing. It is blooming or seeding now. Not aggressive. Clump slowly enlarges.

I think it is Cedar Sedge http://wildflower.org/plants/result.php?id_plant=CAPL3
That looks like a match, Josephine. i have "saved" several clumps and replanted on the banks of my dry creek bed. Interestingly, they are near a deodar cedar. They are doing well so I guess they like it there. It is shady. Thanks for your valuable insight.
Very nice!! I have a few volunteers here and there. I've never thought about getting them IDd, though I should.
I've also got some growing near the woods that never seem aggressive that I'd love to see about transplanting.
Aren't they so nice mixed into the flower beds?!
Yes, I love their soft look and feel. I transplanted after it was pretty hot and they looked terrible for a while but eventually got back on their feet. I made a mental note that if I get other volunteers I will wait until it's cooler to transplant.
PS. If it's a Texas native, Josephine (Frostweed) can ID anything!
