very pretty...the first time my daughter saw a passion flower, she said it looked like an alien eyeball...I had to laugh...I never thought of them like that!!

I love your passion flower...the red ones are blooming now....the purple ones from years gone by, but the roots have spread underground since this picture was taken...now they pop up 30 or 40 feet away from their original planting...but I still love to see them...:)

Thanks Txtea. Pretty exciting as this is my first season growing these beauties, so every new bloom is so much fun.

Pamela, the first time I saw a passion flower in the wild I could not believe what I was seeing and felt exactly as your daughter did, from what alien planet did this come? The more I learned about them the more I became enchanted with them. Do you have a close up of that purple plant, is it p.incarnata "maypop"?

Your red one looks like passiflora vitifolia.

I found these 2 close ups after going back and reviewing pictures from years gone by. I believe they are maypops. I love the way they grow so easily once established, especially since they are so exotic looking. I enjoy the expressions on people's faces that have never seen them before!
