I am getting a few seed pods but when to harvest them? I let the 1st few get brittle and if it had sds.
they were so tiny they blew away like dust. I notice the pods roll up. If I get sds fine, but I notice tiny cuttings are easy to root in a vial of water. I use tiny prescription bottles for rooting small cuttings. I would still like to
know when to harvest sds and how to germinate them, if anyone can help me. :-)

Streptocarpella Seeds???
Jackie,
I don't grow from seeds anymore,so maybe someone can give you better advice.I would harvest them as soon as they start turning brown and then sew them on top of damp, not soaking wet, seed starting mixture or a very light mix.Don't cover them with any soil. Some people use long fibered spagnam moss.Cover the container tightly and keep them in a warm place.
The seeds are as fine as dust. You will probably need to put them in the fold of a piece of paper and lightly tap them on top of the growing medium.

Lynn, thank you for the reply. I am going to practice sowing the sds as I gather them. I'll place my 6 pack sd starter in a baggie to help speed up the process.
thanks again
Jackie
