The folks here are bird-watchers that are great with wild birds, but probably aren't too good with domestic chickens. You might try the poultry and livestock forum:

This one does bring back memories for me, too - reminds me of a pet rooster we called "Rojo" - and yes, I'm pretty sure he was a Rhode Island Red.
