I planted it but dont remember what it was. Failed to label it before I forgot what it was. Anybody recognize it? I may have planted Abutilon from a trade. When I look on google, many of those have star shaped leaves.

Whatever this is, I have a LOT of them
Sorry Marty, I can't tell what it is, but it reminds me of Mexican hydrangea, just a guess.
lantana? they do go to seed. I potted mine last fall
No clue...bring them. By trade time they may be large enough to tell what they are for sure.
Not lantana, leaves are perfectly smooth, no hairs. Not mexican hydrangea. I planted these in a 2X2 pot and perhaps 50 germinated. I plucked out the biggest ones and up potted. Still dozens more in the original 2X2. I planted these on purpose. I just failed to label and my memory is just no good anymore.
Done that myself, no idea what they are, sorry.

I make myself lable it before I sow or plant it. I hate doing that too myself. I thought you found it I didn't realize you sowed it. Lol
Yeah, I know it's embarrassing. Im trying to train myself to label as I go but invariably I will trust my memory to last until Im finished and then it doesent!!!
I found the notebook from my old house. Detailed drawings of front and back yard, numbered flower beds, detailed list of what I planted in each bed and when.
Back then I had time. I need to get somewhat better now though. I've lost a few things, like a columbine, that might have lived had I remembered to water it.
I hate wasting the time trying to remember. That's the worst. Can you give us any ideas of what seeds you sowed?
It was back in November and I put my seed containers away after sowing. The only thing I can remember is Abutilon.
I have one notebook that I write everything down in. With 2 teenagers and elderly parents out of state I KNOW I'll forget. Lol
I'll just wait til it blooms.
I think you are going to have to. Lol. As it gets bigger you might be able to tell. You threw all the seed packets away? I hate when I do that.
These Im sure were seeds I got in one of Susie's Round Robins. I think the reason I got so many plants is that I did a germination test and it seemed most of the test seeds were not fertile so I dumped the whole packet into the pot thinking maybe a few would germinate. So much for the sink method of germination testing!!!!
I've done that "test" but it's never proved to be right. If I soak the seeds, I sow all of them more then once ive had them all germinate. The paper towel/coffee filter works good but I don't have any faith in the sink or swim method.
They do look familiar but I don't know what they are.
looks like abutilon...but do you know which one you were planting? there are so many of em...
which would be why my gardening got so much less technical, well that and 1/3 of an acre..... here are indeed so many of everything!
Maybe look back at the trade list for that swap, could be it would help you remember. I have done that many times.
I've done it many times too. Makes me feel getter that I'm not the only one.
I am not up on seedlings so my opinion is worth 2 cents..it looks like something from the mint family to me! :0)
If it's in the mint family the stem will be square. That's absolutely all I know!
Does this look like lavatera to anyone? I may have planted that.
I thought this was a mystery plant not an I can't remember plant. Sorry I have done this sooo often I cant help but laugh, but only a little.
Could it be some kind of skullcap? That's the first thing I thought of but can't see the stem. Anyway, you have to tell us what it is when it blooms! Hope to see you at the roundup at Joy's.
Janet
If you hadn't said you planted it, I would say Pokeweed! LOL! Don't know what hyssop looks like, sorry.
I think you might have something there Marty

Crush a leaf and see if its aromatic. Most hyssops are.
