Your mission, should you accept it, is to guess where I was.
1. House Sparrow
2. Common Myna
3. Black-crowned Night Heron
4. Cattle Egret
5. Common Waxbill
A thread for Resin
16. A really, really bad photo of a White-rumped Shama.
17. Erckel's Francolin
18. Pacific Golden Plover
19. Brown Booby (no photo)
20. Great Frigatebird (no photo)
21. White-tailed Tropicbird
22. Red-footed Booby
23. Spotted Dove
There are three more, but they'd be a dead giveaway. I'll save them for now.
The mix of Old World birds (e.g. Common Myna and Common Waxbill) and New World birds (e.g. Yellow-billed Cardinal and Northern Cardinal), plus Pacific Golden Plover, makes it Hawaii - lots of introduced species, plus a few oceanic natives.

With an 'Apapane, it has to be Hawaii again!
Nice to get one of the Hawaiian endemics.
Resin
hee. thought I could fool ya with another Hawaii posting. I tried so hard to find the Nene Goose, but with no luck.
I didn't know you managed to get an Apapane, Marna. Where did you take the shot? Waimea Valley?
Kim, I so want to go back there - for longer. Nice shot of the peacock grouper. Are you going to do a thread on your underwater shots?
26. House Finch (?)
27. Yellow-fronted Canary (?)
In retrospect, Resin, I should have posted the birds one at a time and waited to see how long it would take you to narrow down my location.
Margaret, I got that at the Volcanoes National Park. They were everywhere there (calls) but were too difficult to find. Saw other birds but all too fast for pictures.
Nice, Marna! I guess I could start a fish thread, Mags...do we have a fish watching forum? hahahaha
Kim you'll have to do a fish thread on the Photography forum.
I have always thot we
should have critter foto forum ...
Well we do have the "wildlife" forum, so a threat there would be appropriate too.
Come, come. No need for any threats, Mrs Ed. :)
LOL!
Gah. i must get new fingers.
