Thailand Gigantea advice

I would like to get one of these but I'm not sure what to do to keep it alive through the winter. I live in zone 5, so it has to be stored inside. My question is, does it have to stay in a pot or is this the type of elephant ear that can be dug up and stored in a cool, dry place?

Thanks for the link! Still a little confused on over wintering, but if I lose it I'll just look at it as an annual. I've spent more on hanging baskets that are tossed at the end of the season!

I would just withhold watering so the soil dries and the leaves die off, then store the bulb in a cool dry place.

I grow mine in a large pot and store it in the utility room in winter which doesn't get below 40 degrees - the utility room also has lights on a timer for other large plants like the papyrus that won't fit in the greenhouse. I started watering it sparingly again about a week ago. I'll increase the amount of water every week until it's safe to take it outside and leave it for the growing season.
