Anticipation....

...it's making me wait!

I received this aloe vera at a RU a couple of years ago. It multiplies like crazy and this big plant is really 4 or 5 plants in this too-small pot. I've pretty much ignored it and had decided to let it die as I'll have to break the pot to get the plants out and it's hard to water it. Mark drug it in from outside for the winter and it's been in our enclosed sunroom. It's been a crazy few weeks and I've not been out to tend the plants much, so imagine my surprise when Mark tells me that this aloe has a flower stalk on it!! I really wish I knew what the flower was going to look like.

I have had a huge one for several years that has never bloomed. I am curious to see what yours will look like. I do have a small different species of aloe that blooms each fall and the flowers are orange. Most other aloes I see blooming are similar.

This is the first time it's sent up a flower stalk, so I'll definitely be tracking its progress. I told my husband that I guess the secret to them blooming is to only water once a month! LOL

Smock sent me a pix last yr & wanted to know what he had that had sent up a bloom stalk. Looked some what like yours only definitely not an Aloe Vera. When I ck'd it out, it was a Red Hot Poker.....

I'm thinking the bloom will be either white or yellow.
