I have been told that Yellow-rumped Warblers have been split back into Myrtle Warbler and Audubon's Warbler. And also that the Common Moorhen is now called a Common Gallinule. I probably got this from the Bird ID site here on DG. My most recent bird book shows Yellow-rumped and the AOU listing on their website shows Yellow-rumped. So, where are these changes that I have heard about written in stone? In other words, what body governs bird names and where can I find a current list?
Thanks,
Patti
