Congratulations Busybee ;). well done!!! am so happy for u. once upon a time, i used to have collection of all colors of cereus, cacti, succulents, orchids etc. but that is a thing of the past... all history now. at this point of life i am starting all over... slowly but surely!

cereus is very easy to grow, provided given the right environment, potting medium. they are a great pleasure to have around... specially when in bloom! some flowers last overnight, while others stay for a few days. Lovely!

keep up the good work. looking forward to more photos from u. Thanks for sharing... ma vie rose

Pretty - aren't they a nice surprise. I have a peach one that has bloomed twice this summer and has a big bud now too. I guess it's worth the wait looking at the plain foliage til that beautiful bloom pops out.

I have one of these and keep hoping it will bloom for me. It is about 2 years old and 3ft long . When can I expect a bloom? I agree, that they are easy to start. The wind blew a large leaf off in the early spring and I cut it in two and stuck the pieces in a pot and they just took off. Lou

dispatcher1,
what kind of potting medium and fertilizer do u use? if not mistaken, if the fertilizer is higher in nitrogen, all u will have are leaf growth and hardly any bloom. check ur fertilizer... maybe that is where the problem is. i used to cut them in pieces, and in no time they would immediately bloom after a while. i usually incorporate superphospate in the potting medium when i stick a cutting into the potting medium. hope that helps... ma vie rose

ps: for potting medium: i used to use equal parts of orchid bark, peat moss and pumice. u can also use equal amount potting soil, peat moss and 1/2 amount of perlite. add one teaspoon of superphosphate. twice a month i would water with 15-30-15 liquid fertilizer. they do flower year round for me.

Azalea, Would you like to trade a peach for a white? Actually the outer layer of petals are a dark pink, with the inner ones white.

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Sure, why not!!! I think I'll post mine too since it's getting winter and I am always short of storage space. maybe there are others who would like to trade for a piee of it.

My white one hasn't bloomed, but it has been seriously neglected. I would love to find something to trade for a pink one. I simply must work up a list, but if you have plenty to spare, I can surely find something to trade. LMK, please? Aimée
