I bought a gourd around Halloween and kept it inside my room all this time. It hasn't rotted, softened, and has no odor. Do gourds never rot?
How long do Gourds last stored inside?
Hard shelled gourds (Lagenaria siceraria) properly dried will last indefinitely unless exposed to water or weather. They are as durable as wood.
This is orange with green and yellow stripes and round, not sure of species but it does feel very hard.
How long will seeds inside remain viable?
Most of the colorful small ornamental gourds are actually squash, so they don't keep extra long, some maybe a year. If it drys out with out rotting, the seeds are viable for several years.
Ok thank you
