okay i know if i find a baby bird on the ground i should leave it, but this pass year one was on the ground, and with 4 cats i knew they would get him so i put it in the nearest tree......checking on it the next a.m. a dove flew off from the same tree....so is this a baby dove? I know the mother is usually near.
Yes, a young dove, probably a White-winged Dove but not 100% sure on that.
