Native Salvia

Arlington, TX

I have the usual. Any suggestions on some native salvia that have a long bloom period and would tolerate part sun and well drained sandy soil? What I have:
greggi
romeria
regla
coccinea
penstemonoides
mealy blue (bought as annuals at WM so not sure what they are)

Houston Heights, TX(Zone 9a)

There is Mexican Bush Sage which is a real champ here in 9a. I had one but I was new to it and overwatered with predictable results. It is quite tall and forms a clump tha enlarges year after year. Im going to get another one and treat it better next time. S. leucophyllum.

There is also the Sage Brush sage that gets pretty tall, silver leaves and responds to rain with a flush of blooms. I'll go look up the latin name and come back and add. Leucophyllum frutescens.

There is pitcher sage, salvia azurea, which is a beautiful azure blue. It grows well in my sandy NETexas soil.

I have it but to me its tall and sort of lanky. I keep it because of the color.
