CLOSED: Another Hawk

These were from today. I am soo hoping it is not a Red-tailed. Maybe a Rough-legged? But if a Red-tailed, I won't cry... too much. :) There are so many color variations to those birds.

Rough-legged is right - note the white tail base and black tip, also the blackish belly.

Yes, it is. Besides being for the Christmas bird count, it was a lifer, so I wanted to make sure we had the identification correct.

Yay Congrat on you new lifer. Always fun to add new ones. My goal this year is to try to find a Snowy Owl or any type of Owls for that matter.
