Weather In Your Garden # 124
Hope you liked, Boston, Victor.
I was in Bucks county and the Poconos where the weather was pretty warm and sunny. Funeral to lay the last of the older generation to rest, my aunt's husband. Now the family home will be empty, and soon sold. A physical link to three generations will be gone but not the memories.
Thanks. Chilly start today. Lots of frosty roofs. Sunny and 37.
Yes, had a nice time in Boston. Went to the large book fair with my dealer friend. Did some sightseeing/photographing too.
frosty this am. 32 going up to 54
21 here this morning
33° here now. The antiquarian fair is rather famous. In the old days I would have wanted to see historic children's books, but away from collecting those now.
Some stuff was astronomical. In the 100K range.
Sorry for your loss Rosemary
Kinda gray day 45° right now
up to 46° & cloudy
It's fun to look, Victor & be glad that the books still exist.
Please....do NOT take away my paper books! Very frosty here, 30 when I walked this morning, frost rime on everything...has warmed? up to 42, partly cloudy....Sad, Rosemary, to see the old family homestead gone......
32 now going to 52
21 now high of 45
36 now, highs in the mid 50's
21 going up to mid 40's
33 had a light frost last night so was colder then.
43° nice morning
45 going to 52.
Yay for memories!!! Where is said homestead, Rosemary?
Just back from my walk. Chilly, but nice. Started to get overcast now. 41.
Still sunny here, 42, headed toward 50...a blessing....
Thanks for your thoughts, folks. My grandfather settled in the little Welch slate mining town of Pen Argyl, PA near Easton, and had three daughters, of which two married, and now all of their generation have passed. He wanted to be near the Poconos. The house contains a lot of memories and mementos. One cousin's family has settled in Brodheadsville so I expect to still go back, but a wave of sadness has been inescapable. The town is becoming a bedroom community for NYC now but the old Victorian has always been there, timeless and yet rooted in a past age.
Blue skies 47° right now
46° & cloudy
50 & partly sunny....just a wonderful stretch of weather!
In the 50's today
Pen Argyl is next door to Wind Gap where I grew up until 3rd grade. Small world. Very cool!
Temp is climbing to low 50s, sunny, no wind.....same for tomorrow, maybe get my last garden cleaned out....
49° & sunny. Last time for this type of weather, but it is Nov.
Crazy weather...hit 47 yesterday, it's 35 now and a high of 49 - 50 today!
we were in the 50's yesterday. currently 49 and breezy. cold front coming through.
Temp at 43 right now, heading to mid-50s.....Cold weather coming in will feel even colder after an awesome day like today......
Jan! I know Wind Gap very well because we'd visit in the summers since I was knee high. Used to hike from there on the Appalachian trail for about the next ten miles to near Stroud township. Hookey Cave was a destination my brother and I never got to--either closed off, or hunting season, or when we were young, noone wanted us to encounter teenagers there. Even now we consider it a magical destination one can never reach. (This isn't really weather, is it? well, sometimes weather was the reason we couldn't go to Hookey Cave)
It was mid 60 s and sunny here yesterday, cloudy and windy and cooler today.
Great day for working outside today....which I did....high of 52....
brr, it's dropped to 37 right now
dropped to 43° Did some work on the siberian foliage, which is all I could do until spring. It is so wet that it was difficult to cut.
54 and clear. Jeff is doing some work on the cars this week. He also spent time raking trails through the leaves for leaf tag tomorrow when we will have a houseful.
Nice day, daughter and daddy went for a ride, I went around the yard and picked some branches and hydrangea heads for Christmas brunch decorations
Yay! Very happy now. My computer is back online! I was without it since Hurricane Sandy, as the original hard drive crashed after the first brief power outage. Thankfully I had added a second hard drive with a lot more gigs than the first, as the first was pretty much full, and I needed more room for programs and more pics. I had also gotten an external hard drive for storing some of the older pics on, to make more room for more pics, etc. So I got a new operating system installed on the second drive, which was still in perfect condition, and thankfully I had all my files backed up with Carbonite back-up service. All this time I've been getting on here via my phone, which is more time-consuming, as it takes so much longer to type anything on it.
Nice pic of a foggy sunrise, Celeste. Or is that sunset? Anyhow, it's pretty.
Glad you had such a good time in Boston. I love going there, but don't like the traffic and high price of parking. Usually end up taking the train.
Jan, I never heard of leaf tag. Sounds like fun!
Anyhow, back to the weather. Yesterday was gorgeous! In the low 50's, and I got a nice long walk in with my friend Gretchen and nephew Ryan and the dogs. Jerry had a blast. Poor old Patches was slow. Must have walked about 3 miles, I think. My ankle was hurting something awful today. Not when I was sitting, but really hurt to stand/walk on it. Old injury that flares up A LOT.
Today was another nice one, and about the same temp, but since my ankle was so bad, no walking. I had to work, anyhow. Tomorrow's gonna be in the 40s.
Karen
31 and lake effect snow showers.
44° I am surprised that J2 hasn't pushed her weather here as yet. It is coming. cloudy skies.
Glad you're back with a computer, Karen....yes, not liking Jumper's weather at all! In the low 40s here, & that's the high for today....temp will be dropping .....very windy....
