Is there a red Brugmansia

Pearisburg, VA(Zone 7a)

Looking for red Brugmansia - if there is one where is the best source for purchasing them? I have a friend who fell in love the Brugmansia this year when I gave her 2 "peach versa".

Yes, Sanguinea. And its sooo pretty!
Funny, I just renewed my subscription to daves and I am going to order one for my self next spring.
Its been a while since I ordered one , so I am not sure what the best place is yet. I still have to figure out what I am going to do with the one I have!

katrun,
I want to order 2 red when we find a place. What color do you have now? I overwinter mine each year in the basement. All leaves drop and I water every 3 or 4 weeks. It gets to 50 or so with 2 small window well windows so little light and they do great. I've been doing that for 4 or 5 years now.

Kay,
I'm in SW Virginia - just 20 minutes W of Va Tech (where I retired from 2 years ago)

My son lives about 5 miles from Ft. Belvoir.

Kay:- OMG! Your son is where I am, Mount Vernon. I live 1 street light from Georges Place!!!! Right next to Ft.Belivoir!

I had several variety's in the past, however as life gets ahead of us...I now have 1 double Pink Perfekecton, 3 Single. However, I have given plants away and cuttings to my friends and sister in law. I have not had the time to fool with my plants the past 2 years. I did however, (Last year) and the year before dig them up and put them in pots and stored them in my laundry room.
Which has terrible light. I pulled all the leaves off and sprayed them. They hang on and grow a few leaves in the winter.
As long as I keep them alive and without mites. I have 4 plants left. I think I am only going to bring in Pink prefecketon and one of my (Big) white singles. I cut them down a bit.
I do not have the room in my laundry room...so its hard. I am going to put plastic bag and mulch the other two and see what happens.

They get so big!!! If I had the space I would have more. I also over winter my elephant ears. I dry some out and keep some alive..its easier when they are alive...that way once I put them in the ground they take off and can see where they are! LOL.
I will let you know...I just got on look at sannguinea..I have admired it over the years and now I want it. Its smaller than the rest. I also have done cuttings in the past with a bubbler and bucket and I am lucky to have 3 out of the 30 survive for me in the past. Its shady here with large Old trees.

What colors do you have? single , Double?? I stored them upstairs and the bloomed one year...they are too big now and I getting to old to drag the pot up stairs!
Do you get mites on yours?

My son actually lives on the outskirts of Alexandria, Va. I might be off on how many miles he is from the army base. He works there, however.

He is probably not too far. Well you can let him know you have a "Plant" friend in the neighborhood!
