I want to thank everyone who came to the farm for our first fall Round Up. The rain was mostly over before we started and the few small sprinkles didnt dampen anyone's spirit.
The food was wonderful, and the company divine!
Central TX RU Recap
I did love it, I just wear out too fast-fish out of water so to speak, am waiting to post pix til the others get home and post theirs. Thank you so very much for the invite!!! Kat (Kitt) hehehe
What a rogues gallery
the end of my shots. I had an awesome good time, and was thrilled to meet all of ya! The poor flowers were drenched and so heavy with water! but it did clear off some and didn't rain the whole time at least. I brought our traditional south Texas german tater salad, and oh my! those greens, and the links, and the - I am still 'mournfully more 'n' full!!!
Loved your tater salad! It was a big hit. I have your container, empty ;0(
Just waiting to be refilled :0)
Those kids sure had a great time mudding, bet all of them slept well last night.
Joy
Looks like fun!!
I had plans to help a friend with an estate sale and it was canceled because of the rain coming. I decided at 5:30 Friday evening to drive 75 miles to Smockette's and wala I showed up...:) I had a wonderful time and food and company was Great. Thanks everyone!!!!
Joy, it was a great time as usual. Thank you once again for being the "Hostess with the Mostest", and kudos and sincere thanks to Dave for showing a converted "city girl" how to milk a goat, and humoring a couple extra guests. {{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}
Joy, thank you for all your "hard" work and hospitality! It was great fun seeing everyone again and meeting new green thumb friends. Doris enjoyed it tremendously as well. The gardening elf stopped by here and will be snail mailing you in about a week. Thanks again for everything.
Carol
Joy,
We had a wonderful time. Thank you again, for your gracious hospitality, patience, and love!
Hugs to all!
Linda
P.S. Those little girls almost drove me crazy all the way home. I believe their grandmother got the real benefit of the day, when they crashed shortly after they were delivered safely home, and all washed up!
Ben Black had an awesome good time, too, and he will NEVER let me forget that he went the right way, when I was emailing him that he had missed the turnoff! He said that God had him to come with us, just so he could guide us there safely. Otherwise, I'd still be wandering up and down Hwy 290!!
LOLOLOL!
Awesome shots of the hummers, kitt! I really missed seeing all of you and meeting the new ones. I hope to be there for the Spring RU.
Tell Ben he is welcome anytime. Are you going to post your pics?
We missed you Marty.
Carey, Dave is always looking for someone to take over his share of weekend milking, there is an ulterior motive there. LOL I always want help with the cheese making. Glad y'all had a good time, even thou we aren't the Sheraton, we try to rock hospitality.
Carol, you and Doris are a hoot, can't wait for spring!
Steadycam3,
I still have the black nursery pots available for you. Didn't drive them all the way to Hempstead after your post, so lemme know if you wanna rendezvous, or come over, or I could drop them to you Sunday after church, since I go past you (the Heights) then.
Linda
Joy,
I'll post the rest of the pics soon. Was having upload issues over the weekend.
Joy, if you need an extra (albeit worthless) hand on weekends, let me know! I'll be happy to head out of offer my uselessness. :) BTW, I'm going to be pruning my Caldwell Pink sometime this month if you'd like a few starts!
Just an update on the ROSEMARY plant I got at the RU. Since I learned that it thrives on total neglect and abuse, it is doing FANTASTICALLY well!
Hugs!
Linda
P.S. My two Esperanza plants are thriving, too. From RU #1 and RU #2!
Awesome! I love rosemary in the garden so that I have that great smell at various unexpected places.
I still have two plants that were left here that are doing well but have no Id. Can't wait till we have our spring one.
Joy,
I love the scent, too, but I'm interested in making Rosemary Orange Marmalade! I got a fantastic recipe from a co-worker, and need all the fresh Rosemary I can grow!
It took a minute to get with the taste, but, once I did, I was slathering that stuff on EVERYTHING, from steaks to scrambled eggs!
Just seeing these today...bit late, but looks like you guys had a great first RU!! Love the porch Joy, great place for eat'in on a misty day! I need some names on some of the faces though... I know Smock, Smockette and Sandy; but no clue on matching up the others.
Joy, I still have your zip up cooler! Sorry I missed you at the celtic fest. :( It's also time to prune my caldwell pink so I'll have more than enough cuttings to share.
Sheila, I was lucky enough to be able to hide from the camera's eye this time around! :)
Uh, that's what YOU think...I have your likeness in my picture box! LOL!
DOH! That's what I get for thinking!!!! LOL!!!!
