This little guy came by to see my cherry tomato and i happened to have the camera close by. Not the usual hornet or yellowjacket i am used to seeing. Quite smaller. Thx for helping pollinate though :)

Not a wasp, but a flower fly in the family Syrphidae - they are good pollinators, and the larvae of some species are predators on aphids.
