2012 N Central TX RU in Burleson-**Oct 6th ** - FOOD THREAD

Our favorite part of coming together!!! Food!

Please post exactly what you are bringing to avoid duplications. I will plug in the items as I am able. Just to make sure we have a little of everything I have put some suggestions down. Limited electrical hook-ups, so we can not cook items there.

We will be eating around 12:30 - 1:30p so unload food first as you come to the sign in table!

1. One Loaf bread?
2. One dozen Rolls?

Chips & Dips / pretzels etc.

Desserts: (We all know it’s sweets!)
1. Carmelita Oatmeal Bars (Stephanie)
2. Ginger Cookies (Carrie)

Drinks: (only non-alcoholic allowed)

• Water one case (Sheila)

• Tea , coffee, and Lemonade (Sybil)

• One bag of ice (Sheila)

Note: Paper goods will be provided by Sybil.

I will bring the Brown rice and Vegetables casserole.

I will bring a dessert.

I can bring a loaf of home-made bread machine bread, or two, but that's not good for sandwiches, it's just good. But I'm not sure if I can be there in time...maybe I should bring a dessert so it's less time-sensitive. Ginger cookies? Both? I have another potluck picnic earlier that day! But it's easy to throw an extra loaf into the bread-machine.

Stephanie...are you bringing cake, cookies, brownies or what?

Carrie...I will put you down for one loaf homemade bread, and ginger cookies. That way if you don't make it in time for us to enjoy the bread with the meal, we can eat cookies!

Yes. LOL I'm thinking of bringing Oatmeal Carmelitas which is a bar type dessert.

so mebbe they wont run out before we get there!

Yes, some do, but just away from others and keep filters (but..s) picked up. LOL!

Hey Guys, are we doing door prizes this time? I haven't heard a word about it.

Yes, and you are in charge of it!!! LOL! Please... I did put the Door Prize instructions in the first post of the attendance thread also.

Everyone: Please bring one door prize for each person in your party. Make it simple, low cost and garden related if possible. It can be a re-gift, usable item, or new. We have had many bring dried manure, potting soil, pots, books, gloves, and plants. We will assign a number to your name tag as you sign in. Later we will draw numbers at random for the gift held up. It will be yours if your number is call; unless you brought it or choose to switch with someone else later.

O.K. We will do the door prizes, so please don't forget to bring one for every person in your group.

I am afraid we will get there too late to eat.... and reading this list of food is making me hungry!

Too much is going on this week. I'm afraid that I won't be bringing anything homemade this time. Is there anything that we are particularly in need of that I can pick up at a grocery store?

Maybe some hot coffee for our cold bones...

Dennis, can you pick up some warmer weather for us?? LOL

Carrie...we leave the food out and graze on it so there will be plenty left for you when you come. Just glad you will be there.

Today was the day I was supposed to make cookies. Oh well...I will grab a homemade pie at the place we're eating tonight. (I think I'll let them put it in a box!)

Sounds great. I will throw in a case of water too. Will you have ice or do I for sure need to bring that too?

I wish I could bring something like hot baked potato or hot apple crisp or hot chocolate....but I'l probably end up grabbing something cold on the way. :( BUT WE'LL BE THERE.

I've got to catch fish and load them, then on the way. Stopping to pick up stuff too. I need to be there to help set up. We walked the dogs this morning and it isn't really bad at all.

It was lovely to meet everybody--where are the pictures!!!?

LOL!! Naps are first order after a day of eating and greeting! I am sure we will start a photo thread soon.

It was most enjoyable day, great weather too.
