Isabella for Arlene

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Here is the Isabella, blooming today. I pollinated (spelling?) it with Jutner Orange pollen. I think it has a seed pod from the first bloom, I don't want to mess with the calyx to look. Unlike Frosty Pink that has 5 peaks with whisker like things on them, these blooms all have 6.(don't y'all like that proper horticultural description?)

calalily, is the only difference between frosty pink and isabella that one has 5 and one has 6?
i saw some pics of isabella on another thread and thought that it looked alot like what i call frosty pink, but i have only 5 whiskers. jen

It's a slightly different color, and it's twice as big. it's blooms are "poofier" around the middle than FP.

Cala, that is pretty, hope you get seeds. MsJen, sometimes they really are the color of watermelon. mine have 5/6 whiskers, but then again what i call frosty pink that isn't had some 6 whiskered blooms too. it's a good one.

Calalily,
Whisker like things and poofier sound like good descriptive words to me. Pretty bloom and good luck with the pollinating.
