Tonight found 15 blooms on three Oxypetalums hanging in my grapevines outback. Two buds still to bloom. It's rained hard all day and into the night. These pictures taken with my phone in the rain. I noticed no smell due to the rain. These are the third flush of blooms this year from these same plants. I think they are happy! bob
Fall Bloom
Excellent! I'd say that they are VERY happy!!! Gorgeous!
I am surprised to see a couple of buds on my Oxy too! Very unusual for this time of year.
I'm anxiously waiting for mine to bloom for the first time. Received the cuttings about a year ago. Can either of you tell me at what age the plant may bloom?
Tim, I think their roots like to be crowded before they bloom. Stem cuttings usually are a lot faster, but difficult to stabilize while rooting. I do agree with orchidmam1. They don't want to be houseplants, so keep them outside as long as you can without freezing. One issue you may have, that I don't, is summer rain. Mine live outside year round, but with the rains you folks on the East coast have been getting, you could have problems with root rot, if they aren't under some sort of protection. Mine hang under trees, so don't seem to suffer much. Of course, we only had 8" of rain last winter...nothing suffered from too much water. LOL!
Good info from you both, Thank you. I'll definitely keep the rain/watering in mind. Right now they are under the eaves on the SSW side of the house, and seem to like this area. Yes, we have had copious amounts of rain this Summer. Nice for a change. My water bill likes it! Thanks again.
Beautiful pictures and great advise!

They sure look happy to me Bob. ^_^
In walking through my greenhouse last evening I decided to replace an overhead neon light. In doing so, I broke Off the bud on Mor Mor.. Needless to say, I am upset with my clumsiness. I wish I could say this was the first time but it isn't. Oh well.
Now THAT is my kind of glass! LOL! Love it, ginger!
This weeks much colder nights caused some damage to my sclums. I have/had a nice Sambo Brazil growing with large buds. I had placed it in a back corner for protection and it is the only plant out of around 700 that got badly bitten by the colder temperatures. I guess my gas unit was not up far enough and that area got too cold. However, only one plant was hurt and t happened to be my favorite. I don't know if any life is left in it. bob

Keep up the good work! Beautiful
I sure hope your plant comes back for you.
Love your greenhouse!
