Help. I don't know what these are. I was standing by some marsh grass and a flight of about 12 of these abruptly flew in and splashed down right next to me and a couple of other people. I got a few shots while they milled around in the shallow water and sand and then they flew off again. Salt water in Baytown, TX (near Galveston). I won't venture a guess at the size because I don't estimate size very well, but compared to others I saw, these were relatively small.
CLOSED: Shorebird ID Needed
Least Sandpipers - the combination of yellow legs, small size, fairly short bills and brown upperpart plumage clinches them.

Thanks much Resin. I was leaning that direction, but the bill didn't look as narrow as in my book, so wasn't sure. New bird for this year for me! Cool.
Waders are often drawn with their bills too thin in books ;-)
It's the same with bills on chickadees and titmice, see how they're drawn in books, then compare some photos.
