Blackfoot Daisy question

Arlington, TX

I lost nearly all of mine rather recently. Never had this many die off. Any ideas? Too much water followed by too little maybe?

Cheryl, I can't be of any help, they just won't do for me for any length of time, so I stopped trying.

Mine have never lasted more than two or three years, but they do seem to resent too much water.

These were old so that might be it. I still have a couple that were volunteers from last year. Hopefully I will get some more to move around next year. I think they got too much water for a while. Then, I was out of town and busy with work and they dried up. I have 3 left and a pot with some in it. Oh well.

Overwatering does kill them, in my experience. I've noticed they are rather finicky when it comes to watering.

The best luck I had was in a very sandy bed with full sun that didn't get watered very often.

Mine are in a similar full sun environment. It is xeriscaped between 2 driveways. I may have hand watered 3-4 at the most this summer. I even have some volunteers starting. I remember reading not to mulch in the winter.

I tried BF Daisies but they didn't like my black clay flowerbeds. I think it kept things too wet/moist for their preference.
