I think this is a very small Cooper's -- tail seems pretty long for one. However, the heavy barring on the lower belly suggests that it might be a Sharp-shinned and it was very small, so just checking. Did not get a good look at or picture of the end of the tail. When it flew off I was distracted by what it was carrying, a baby White-winged Dove.
CLOSED: Cooper's or Sharp-shinned?
Cooper's, juvenile - tear-drop streaking, and stout, not thin ('sharp'), shins
Resin
Those are stout eh? Thanks tons!
OldNed, that's a totally cool comparison! Those Sharp-shins look like they'd easily snap in two. Thank you.
