A plant I have always that thought is beautiful was Deppea splendens. Problem is I live in very hot Florida, not the cool cloud forests they originate in. Last year I was able to purchase a small cutting so I figured what the heck.. Grew well, got bigger (about 15" tall) and is now stating to flower. Much tougher than I imagined. Sorry about the pic, couldn’t get a clear shot.
David, in Florida where it has been 90/76 for about the last 4 or 5 months
Something that shouldn't happen
Looked at your last few posts. David, you are growing some VERY cool plants...

Thanks. You can barely walk through my yard, there many other plants that are just as cool, if not cooler. It has taken quite a bit of work searching to get them. Not to mention money.

What do you do with them during the winter? I would be afraid I would lose them.
I have a pretty good microclimate, near a large lake so rarely get to freezing or get frost. I put up a "greenhouse" of sorts up over the coldest months (dec-jan) with a greenhouse heater in it that keeps it from getting below 60.In the day it gets near 90 on VERY humid so the ultra tropicals do fine.
