I have a ton of orange daylilies - the roots are huge!!! I am looking for any seed that I can put down down (zone7) for growth in the spring. And any thing vining that I can winter over in a cold frame or window. Oh what the heck I'll send you a box full and you can send me the postage back in an envelope. Any body interested???
Take my Orange Day lilies Please!!!!
Happy, do you know the names of these daylillies? Are they the type that grow wild?
Yes they are Hemerocallis fulva - when I bought this house the property line was lined with them. Since then -- 10 years I have moved split them up given away and have had to throw some into the woods behind my house - and they came up in the shade the next year with out planting!! I have seen them along the road side and they are a big seller at our local nursery. I have given many away to people who had them in hand to purchase!! (I am not sure the nursery would like to know that information)
happy you've got mail :)
Happy I would love to have some, I wonder since I live here in Florida and it did get down to 48 last night if I should wait and plant them in the ground in the spring Sami
Sami, you can plant them any time the ground can be worked, which must be year round for you?! They are most obliging plants. John
Thanks John it is all new to me here in Florida. We had some days last winter that got down in the low 30's. Lost some plants. Sami
