I've crossed this brug; parentage unknown. It must have been a yellow blooming brug crossed with a pink one. The resultant offspring's flower? A mixture of pink and yellow. I'm delighted with the result. Look;
I brought the small plant indoor tonight and the fragrant is oh so beautiful!
It is very beautiful, So happy for you. I know they have a wonderful fragrance, I had a pink one last year that was out of this world. But after it started to going good again in early spring, somethink went wrong and it died. Hopeing to try once more this next year. Congrat on a job well done.
Thanks TXtea, wishing you luck of finding one that you really enjoy. Having being indoor and out of direct scortching sun light this time of year. The blooms will last much longer, and we can enjoy their wonderful fragrant is a bonus.
The 1st flush of blooms faded, this is the second flush...though, only a pair. They transformed from apricot to pink. #1 and 2 were taken yesterday evening, #3 and 4 were taken this morning.
Very nice color.The second time it blooms it may change just a little more too. :-)

Kyle, you're absolutely right! Here is the current blooms. It's all depends on the environment, and the temp. I guess? I kept the plant on the back porch after the last flush of blooms. I just now brought it back indoor to enjoy this last flush of blooms for the season.

It's good lucks, but thanks Karen. The flowers continue to shine as the weather is cooling down outdoor. A bittersweet final blooms for the growing year.

Have the colors become more intense going into fall? They are very colorful. I love them.
MyRee, no the color doesn't seem to be more intense. I've several that are being outdoor seem to 'palen' as the cooler temp. is setting in. I think the warmer temp. intensifies the coloring? I could be wrong. Here is a hybrid 'Miss Emily Mckinzie' blooming this morning.
The second pix is the same cultivar that bloomed back in Aug. 26th.
That is interesting. I have seen more color since moving them into the garage than all the time they were outside.

Thanks Cody, I double checked the buds this morning. Yes, definately those are buds. I'm delighted. Brugs that are grown outdoor in the neighborhood already put out blooms this time of year. I was late bringing my containers brug outside this year. So seeing them progress along, wee bit late, that's okay though. How are you doing? When you get ready to rebuild the garden, drop me a note. I'll be happy to send you some starts.
I've been doing well, thanks. Hope the pet is more co-operative, and be more loving. My neighbors' two dogs that we're looking after this weekend. They're so very sweet, just wanted to be petted and loved on, but no barking. We fed them this evening, and closed the gate and kept them inside. They have their own dog house in the yard, and they do well with it until we come back and visit with them in the morning.
The brugs I've one bud on my seedling, and one on 'Miss Emily Mckenzie' a named cultivar. I'm watching a double white brug that a friend from NY has given me several years past, hope that brug will bloom this summer as well.
Kim,you are very welcome.I did love on the dog.He stayed in my lap or above my head.He is just a spoiled dog that was looking for his mom.He kept me up at night with his barking.Everything i would get to sleep,he would bark and run to the livingroom.He did not settle down until early morning.So i will sleep like a baby tonight,because i am back at my house.
Whooohooo, I found a 2nd bud on the no-named seedling.
The 'seedling' is finally showing off her beauty. The FOS (first of the season) bloom is exactly like the very first one the plant made last year. The only thing is, I've transplanted the 3-4' plant from a small container into a 5-gallon one. It's much to too large to move indoor this year.

Chrissy, I've thought about this seedling for a long while. I finally decided I've given it a nick-name without actually passing out cigars....more on that later.
1. "Cory" is the name! Yes, it's one and the same flower yesterday just before sunset.
2,3, and 4 is 'Cory' this morning.
5th pix are just the complimentary flowers blooming nearby. Those are Jatropha and Duranta blooms. All of which are also tender perennials.
So pretty. I fell in love with brugs last year. All these pictures makes me wish I had a larger back yard. Your babies are lovely.

Thanks Rhaps, brugs have easy culture, they required adequate sun light, lots of water, and moderate fertilizer to flourish. I'm glad you've enjoyed the photos I've shared.
Here is 'Cory' this morning, we've had another down pour rain just now. Right now the blooms is being weighed down by water, but it isn't affecting the flower very badly otherwise.
