Obedient Plant 'Rose Queen' (Physostegia virginiana)

I had to move huge amounts of this today. It will be composted so if you want some it's best to Paypal the postage....I will mail on Monday. Postage is up to you. I have every box the USPS makes and my zip is 19526. So you can calculate how much you want to spend. A small Flat Rate ($5.15) will get you a few roots. But if you live close you could get a shoebox full for $5.00 or $6.00 for up to 3 pounds.

Thanks,
Kim

Hi Kim
I am also interested. My zip code is 70706. I can pay using PayPay, if you give me your email address.

I had it in dry blistering Sun and it multiplied over the years. I wouldn't put it in too moist soil or it may spread too far.
Paypal is: uniqueseeds@comcast.net

Remember I am sending bare root...it stands about 2 1//2 feet and I will cut the stalks to fit the box.

I will close the thread when it's all gone.

Hi its Jake from Manassas Virginia. We have traded before & I have been very satified with your plants that you sent me. I would like a large shoe box if at all possible. What are the color of these plants ? I do have pay pal but I do not know how to use it with this type of transaction; I can send you a personnel check if that is OK with you. Hope to hear from you real soon. JAKE

Hi Jake,
When you log into paypal. Click on 'send money' and then send it to uniqueseeds@comcast.net
I don't think I'll be holding on to these plants long enough to wait for postage in the mail.

Manassas, VA(Zone 7b)

I sent the money thru paypal please let me know when you rceived it I hope I did it right ?

(Zone 7a)

No, sorry I have not received it.

Manassas, VA(Zone 7b)

I just received notification that you have received the money I sent thru paypal. Hope to hear back from you regarding receipt. Jake

(Zone 7a)

Yes, Thanks...will mail tomorrow.

Winnetka, CA

Hi Kim.... sent the money through Paypal just now - notification was sent to you - you should receive it shortly. Our temps are in the 90's and 100's s here right now- just thought I'd better let you know so you could pack the plants with that in mind. I'm glad to hear that they hold up to the high temps also... they should feel right at home.... I appreciate the offer and am looking forward to receiving the plants.... thanks so much for sharing with all of us. I'm putting together a pollinator garden and had looked at these plants at one time.... they're just what I need! -:) Thanks again. Nancy

(Zone 7a)

Ok. How should I pack the plants with the heat in mind? Are you wanting me to wait or is there a special way to pack them for the high temps you're having?

Winnetka, CA

Hi Kim... well I would say go ahead and send them... it will only get hotter the closer we get to August... just keep the roots as moist as you can.... I'm sure you're already a pro if you've done this before. I just recently received two plants from North Carolina and the gentleman wrapped the roots in wet paper towels and then wrapped those paper towels in clear plastic wrap - like you'd use in the kitchen.... they arrived still moist.... seemed to work well....it may take a day or two longer from Pennsylvania.... not sure... but that seemed to keep the roots very moist... unless you have a system that you feel works better? I trust your judgement... just wanted to let you know ahead of time about the weather here... is it that hot where you are? Nancy

(Zone 7a)

No it isn't that hot at all...But I did write this thread seven years ago ;-)

I know this plant well and will send it to you what works best for this plant. This is the type of root that could be sent in plastic or paper dry and still thrive for years. But I wont send it that way...

Happy Gardening!

Hi Kim I see that you have closed this thread but figure it can't hurt to ask if you ever have to dig up your obedient plant again because of crowding please keep me in mind for some I can send you a check for some since I don't have a paypal account.
I won't be on this thread for only about 2 weeks since I'm taking advantage of the free access of the threads that are accessible to subscribers only as I'm not a subscribed member myself.
Please let me know yes or no if it is possible to receive any from you at any time now or in the future.
Thanks
Jan
