I went to mail out some seeds to Tinkerbell yesterday and I had them all done up in a regular 3x6 envelope with my bubble wrap as usual, and when I layed it on the counter the lady tells me that they can no longer take that size envelope if it is bulky. she said I would have to start mailing them off in the 6x9 clasp envelopes. I have mailed tons of seed trades in the 3x6 size envelopes and I guess since all the PO trouble they are having they are taking no chances. I even had a trader e/mail me and tell me that she had sent my seeds off to me and they were returned to her because it was the wrong size envelope. so I guess we all need to make some changes and start sending the bigger ones. Just thought I'd let you all know so that you wont have any returned trades and have to pay for the postage twice.

hope that's not everywhere. I sent a bunch off from my mailbox yesterday, hope they don't come back. I can't afford the larger ones, I've been making my own. :( I guess we'll see.

Hi, same thing happened to me too yesterday in NC. So I went to another PO and they accepted them, but I sure hope they don't come back.
The same thing happened to me before the terror attacks so I don't think it has anything to do with the Anthrax scare. I asked for a copy of the Postal Regulations stating the size restrictions and was referred to their website and I still haven't been able to find it.
I guess we will all have to make adjustments to new postal regs since the anthrax scare. We need to just keep that in mind in our trades, as the cost no doubt will go up.
Not much trouble here yet. It has happened once in a while. I save every envelope that even looks like it could be reused for seed mailing.
Then why are we paying the extra 11 cents for envelopes over one fourth inches thick that won't fit through their fourth inch slot board they have to measure thicknesses???
Hey everyone, if you have a Big Lots close to you, they sell the small padded envelopes at 3 for $1.00. I went to several office supply stores, Kmart, Target, etc and they were all very expensive. Then, I went to Big Lots and said hurrah!! If you do multiple trades, that is livable.
