What kind of bug is this and why are they all over the trunk of my cypress tree(that I hate)

The photos are blurry. any chance you can get a better shot?
I'm afraid that I'm with Steadycam3. It's too blurry to see any detail. Maybe a beetle or weevil?
If it's shield shape with a white dot, it's a stink bug.
