Hi, A friend gave me a rooted cutting and I planted it. It made a beautiful plant. Then, we had to have a tree removed because it died, so I had to move the trellis and some of the roots. No sign of survival. So some new shoots came from where the old plant was, so I am so proud.
THEN, we had a gas leak because of the truck that took down the tree. We had to replace the gas line and guess where the line ran, right down the middle of the new shoots that were 12 inches tall. So now I still have about 4 shoots living and I want to move them somewhere else. When can I safely dig them up and move them to a safe haven? How is that for a sob story? Thanks, alda
transplanting passies
I dig up runners all the time just dig up the roots and move them there not deep proably after you do this more will pop up. They are invasive they send runners under ground before you know it there popping up all over.
Oh Dana, Thank you so much. I have babied these for so long I decided that maybe this is just not meant for me. I will keep tryintg. alda
What kind of passion vine is it that you are trying to save?
I have no idea. It is purple and pale green tints. It is very beautiful. alda
Is it possibly P. belotti? Check the DG link below and see if this is the one you have:

If it is, it should grow in the ground year around in your zone, if protected with a thick layer of mulch.
