Dicentra, you're looking for the same thing I am! I finally broke down and faxed an order to Windrose Nursery for two Schizophragma hydrangeoides 'Roseum' plants ($8 each)

And of course, right after I placed my order, I heard somebody say that Lowe's carries "climbing hydrangea", but I couldn't find any at our store here in middle Tennessee. And I didn't know if they were referring to Hydrangea anomala petiolare or S. hydrangeoides.

Can you grow these plants from seeds? I understand that both species are VERY slow to take off, even from plants....I figured it would take all my patience to nudge them along from decent-sized plants, let alone from seed. Let me know if you find some seed, and how the growing goes, please?

Hello,
I'd like to trade vine seeds; please e-mail your list,
Regards, Gill

Hi go_vols..if I find some seed, I'll let you know how it goes with germination (from what I read, the seed needs 1 month of stratification, then germination at 70 deg. F, although I have no experience with this seed :(
I think I may break down, though, and buy the vine if it hits me in the face at Lowes..lol. I think Gurneys has the vine on sale in their Spring catalog and I have always received good stock from them, so I may order from them. Maybe I'll get lucky and find the vine alongside a road with volunteers all around for the taking...hey..somebody, pop my bubble..lol.

Oh, I'm sure it'll leap off the shelf at Lowe's, twine itself around you and beg you to take it home LOL!!! How could you refuse to take home that poor little vine, when it just needs a good home!!! Keep us posted!

Want some good old fashioned southern honeysuckle? White, fragrant bloom. But VERY hardy. Can be invasive.

I love Daves Garden:

Dear Plant Delights Nusery,
My name is (name witheld) and I am definatly what you would call a plant lover. Recently I finished adding a greenhouse onto the back of my house in order to satisfy my love for plant life. Since the addition, I have been thinking a lot about what I think would be the ultimate plant/human relationship. I figure if anyone could help me it would be you. I am looking for a plant, maybe a type of vine, that is able to attach itself and grow on an actual human body and maybe create a type a symbiosis. Do you know anyone who has ever accomplished this? If so, I would like to get in touch with him or her right away. If not I would like to try and be the first. Please, it you have any suggestions or comments write me back as soon as possible. Thank you.
