Oh yummmm....fresh peaches! Nothing beats a fresh from the tree peach with juice running down your face and arm!

Wow!! that sure was quick, I didn't think they could make fruit at such an early age.

Talihina, OK

I planted some seed last fall and now have 9 seedlings growing and all are over 4 feet tall >>> Now here is the bad news i did not seperate the peachseeds from some nectarines i had also been munching and had saved all the seeds in a little basket so in my starter garden I have these beautiful plants and can't tell the peaches from the nectarines Got any helpfull hints for me >>CONFUSED

How funny, I'm sitting here listening to John Prine sing about peaches :0)

That's a big tree! Do you know what kind of peach it is?
Did you ever get your pond and irrigation set up?

Houston Heights, TX(Zone 9a)

I'd love to know the variety of such a fast growing peach. Do you know its name?

Talihina, OK

jujube did you have to chill the seeds to get them to germinate??

San Marcos, TX(Zone 8b)

It was just a seed left outside. I have no idea watch type of Peach it came from but they dont come true to seed.
I have a pond and irrigation at my land.

Well, it looks like it inherited some decent qualities, congrats! Cobbler time!

I don't want to run your awesome peaches too off topic, but have few questions. Would you mind explaining your filtration system. What kind of filtration do you have sunk into pond? Do you use a second filter right before the irrigation lines? If so, did you use a residential filter or go with commercial? Is the filter 200 mesh? How often do you have to clean the filters? Did you see any reason to order extra filters? thx!

I use the ponds at my land to irrigate trees.
I just use poly 3/4 irrigation with no filtration. I just use a gas powered trash pump. It can pump about 100 gallons a minute.
Is that what you were asking about?
I used to have a pond at the house with fish but I turned that into a garden area.

Ok, no, sorry, for some reason I got it in my head the trees were on drip lines. Thanks for letting me momentarily divert. I'll start a new thread.

Back to the peaches, are you going to graft it for more trees?

San Marcos, TX(Zone 8b)

I am going to plant all the seeds after I refrigerate them for a few months.

Do they have to be refrigerated?

My peach tree died last year and the root sock is coming back. I'm thinking of purchasing another tree this fall, trimming the purchased whip back and grafting it to my already growing stock. Do you think that would work?

San Marcos, TX(Zone 8b)

That would definitely work. Graft around March or when the stock just starts to bud out.

Ah, thanks, when the sap rises that makes sense. I appreciate your help, as always :0)
