I just discovered that one of my new little favorites has a cross beak. The bottom is straight, but much longer then the crooked upper. I'd like to trim this back to be more in line with the top, but don't want to cause her to be more afraid of me than she is now.
Has anyone done this? Any thoughts? I have googled, but still confused...

Beak trim?
I have only trimmed the beak of one chick whose upper was so much longer than the lower that she had difficulty eating. I used a fingernail clipper and clipped off a tiny snip at a time. The chick didn't seem to hate me for it.
