Chocolate Mimosa tree

Dallas, TX

I bought this tree three or four years ago and planted it in the front where there is plenty of sun. Then I decide to move it to the back ... big mistake! It started dying from the top and it has gotten shorter and shorter. I continued to cut it back but that didn't help. In a final attempt I decided to dig it up again and pot it up so I could move it in the sun. I really thought it was a goner until a few days ago I discovered it branching out at the graph. I do see a little branching out a limb that is drying out. I bought this tree at a steal and they cost a lot. What can I do to save my tree? :(
