I noticed this medium-size cat. which was working its way up an Angel trumpet plant while I water the plant last evening. This early morning, it couldn't be found. Tonight before sunset, I once again discovered the cat. wandering out of the soil. Is it a White-lined hawkmoth's larva? Please help I.D.
Hyles lineata Caterpillar?
Nope...looks like a pesky army worm. White-lined sphinx cats are much more colorful and lime green. There are some photos on the bug ID page.
Thanks ~Cat for taking the time to out to respond.
Can you help I.D. the caterpillar errr moth now? Since I didn't get a definitive I.D. I thought I would raise the cat. and find out what exactly it is? After a few days in captivity. It formed a small cocoon, smaller than a BST's chrysalis. Then approximately 2 weeks later. It finally elcosed last evening. Can you help i.d. please.
