And… it just so happens that I have four blooming at one time (three varieties!). Small pond but I want a blue/purple flower too. How will I ever fit it in!
Very pretty Mrs_Ed! I also battle the small pond/large appetite for waterlilies (and fish) issues. My pond is finally starting to recover from a very destructive raccoon attack, but not much is blooming at the moment. Here is the first bloom of the year, (pre-raccoon attack) accompanied by Goldie, one of our koi.
Edited to add...this is tropical waterlily 'Pamela.'

All your water lillies are just beautiful.
Sunnyg, I have a Goldie koi also. Solid gold with irridescent scales. 3 yrs, old in June of this year. One of my first fish I bought.
Someday I intend to get brave enough to try growing water lillies or lotus. Problem is not enough sun and moving water. But I'll try anything once. My ponds are primarily in shade of large oak tree.

I bought two mature lilies and then the fish started spawning. One is OK but they have all but destroyed the other one. First they knocked it over; I uprighted it. Next they sank it to the bottom of the pond and it began to drown. Now it is in a corner behind another potted plant but they are still spawning and swimming in and around it. Can't win.

Bonnie, I'm glad to see my lilies bloom, they only get about a half day of sun, but it seems to be enough.

My Black Princess was flowering last week. I wait all year to see my Black Princess - she doesn't flower long, but long enough to get a photo or two.

Yes, just once, but I have divided it so there should be more coming. We promised some divisions to the man that comes to service our furnace every fall.
Well that's too bad, it's so pretty!
It is a shame, but there are plenty more of the others.

do you know the name of your first waterlily in your first picture? It reminds me of my Peaches and Cream. It is very pretty.
Unfortunately, I don't have the names of either of the pink/cream in the first picture (bought them that way). That one in the foreground is really a large bloom. the middle one is lighter and a smaller bloom.
I have the yellow's name somewhere though.

Our old pond does get a little more than 1/2 day sun. Guess I should try a lilly there. Will check with TWL and see best time to buy one in this climate.
