BOO HOO

Arlington, TX

I was repotting the heartleaf hibiscus that Josephine gave me and I accidentily broke off the tip. You know the part with alllllll the leaves! I put the green stick into the pot and watered. What are the odds it will regrow? I see no leaf buds anywhere along the stem. It's been a while since I killed a plant so carelessly. Any advice?

Cheryl, if there is a good piece of stem with nodes left it might sprout from there, the tip could also root, that is how I got your plant, so there is hope.

There is a big piece of stem and a nice root system that I planted but unfortunately I threw out the tip.

I think the bottom will resprout.

Update: The stem has new leaves forming at the tip already and I found the broken tip (threw it into a pot) the next day and put into wet soil and the leaves perked back up, odd.
