This may be a common occurrence but I've never seen it! I have some green tomatoes on one of my potato plants. These were planted from purchased seed potatoes. I know they're both from the Solanaceae family but now I don't know if I'm going to get potatoes! Have you ever heard of this?
tomatoes on potato plant
Those are potato seed pods, I believe.
And not edible... as I understand.
I was always told they were poisonous - I did taste one once (I was young) and it was nasty bitter -easy to spit out and hard to mistake for something edible. And yes, you will still get potatoes - potato plants blooming is pretty common and doesn't do any harm.
Thanks all. I pulled them off and put them in the trash. I'm not interested in planting potatoes from seed... I already have potato volunteers all over the garden due to crop rotation and missing some when I dig them!
