Has anyone had any experience growing peanuts? I read that you could use the uncooked ones from the store, but they just rotted. Any advice?
Edited to say yes, I did take them out of the shell:>)

Peanuts
I am completely ignorant of your growing conditions, but peanuts require a long season. Otherwise very easy to grow. If you can find raw peanuts, they normally germinate. Plant them as you would beans but use 12 inch spacing. The Spanish types are the most most versatile and have the shortest growing season. Valentias will grow further north than Virginia or Runner types. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/103224/ http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/110024/ http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/110233/
I live in zone 9a or 8b, hard to tell on the map, but pretty much all year round gardening with good frost protection. Thanks for the info:>) Maybe I just kept the seeds too damp, or they weren't viable when I bought them. I'll try again.
