Saw this on one of my butterfly weed plants this morning. I've never seen this before and am wondering if it's a seed pod.

Yes it is, be sure to harvest it before it flies away, the right time is when the pod turns yellow and starts to split, but before it totally opens.
Hooray!! I've had this plant for about 3 years and had never seen this. I will have to do a better job of checking it than I normally do.
