Cleo, the Limbo Kitty...the Final Chapter?

(Zone 7a)

Some of you may remember Cleo, an abused kitty who came to live with us a couple of years ago. Little Cleo is in intensive care with liver failure. She went in yesterday. The vets aren't giving her much chance for survival beyond a few days but they are trying. She does have a small chance and we're giving her that.

This came on very quickly, just the past few days. We noticed she wasn't feeling well and went off her food. Her skin and eyes are yellow and she's extremely dehydrated. We rushed her to the vet and they immediately started treatments.

Treatments are including IV fluids and antibiotics. She's eating now and seems a bit perkier than yesterday.

She is being kept another night and we will bring her home tomorrow no matter what. The vet said her liver function test was off the charts. They couldn't even get a reading it was so high. We have prepared a place for her in our Memorial garden. If we don't have to use it, great!
