This resident Clay-colored Thrush injured one of his legs some time ago. His leg hangs withered and I'm wondering if it hampers him when he forages the undergrowth. Here, he waits patiently close by as I freshen up the birdbath water. Its mate is up in the tree...also waiting.
Injured Clay-colored Trush (Robin)
Birds can get by with one leg surprisingly well, I remember a Mediterranean Gull (nicknamed 'Monopod'!) at a reserve near me which stayed around for several years.
