Plant ID help: I can't figure these out!

Walking in the greenbelt, I spotted these two fantastic plants. The first I suspect is a type of viburnum, but I can't find anything with blooms in spires? I pulled this from a shrub/tree about 5' tall and mostly in shade. Not sure why the pictures are so blue? The leaves were very glossy and dark green.

The second had blooms that looked similar to snapdragons (sorry they drooped very quickly - and most of the leaves fell off). It was about 10 inches tall, give or take. It more resembled a groundcover. The leaf in the first picture had tiny hairs. The seedpods are in the second picture - they were rather 'sticky' and some were on my shirt from carrying it back.

Betty - YES that's the one I was trying to remember. Yuck. I know the deer won't eat that so it's no wonder they're getting so big down there. :/

Ligustrum is horribly invasive and destroying the wildlife in Central Texas.
I kill it on site (on my properites).

La Grange, TX(Zone 8b)

I was under the impression that it needed some direct sunlight to grow. I was out checking our fence line a few days ago and found a healthy blooming and densely branched specimen growing in heavy shade. Unfortunately, it is on the neighbor's side of the fence.
I have to admit it is a gorgeous bush.

I didn't know it was invasive but it does bring hundreds of Honey Bees to my property when it blooms.

Jujube if there is a way to destroy it in an environmentally sensitive zone, please let me know how. I'd also like to wipe out the nandina that are cropping up down there.

I had to cut mine down to the ground, drill holes into the trunk base, pour salt into the holes and cover the holes with wax.
That slowed them down and finally I used a sawzall to cut the lateral roots and they died.
