skeleton leaf question

Arlington, TX

My plant is huge, about 3ft x3 ft or a little more. I decided to try and trim it some this spring. I cut off a lot of the dead under stems, if that makes sense. Now its blooming well but all flopped over and looking yukky. Could I give it a severe hair cut now or is it too late to do so. I don't want to kill it. I read it needs to be pruned in late winter. Any advice would be useful.

Yes, you can prune it anytime it will do just fine.

Sometimes if the plant looks good but needs a trim, I cut 1/2...ofcourse it is hard to know when to stop!

My Lady Banksia Rose just got a severe trim - already new growth is appearing. Seems there was a lot of dead hiding underneath.
