CLOSED: Small bird I.D.

Please help i.d. this small bird. This is the only blurry pics. that I've got.

I think it might be a female House Sparrow. The coloring, wingbars and shape look like it, but wait for another response. I don't want to say I am sure on this.

Oh thanks goodness, if it were HOSP which my male eastern BB just chased it off. Hopefully our native Blues will claim victory in the garden agaisnt the HOSP. I'll wait for confirmation of its i.d. Thanks Chillybean.

Oh, I am glad I had the correct ID. It seems like when I am just so sure, it ends up being wrong. :) I am glad you have an aggressive Bluebird. :) We put up our first house, but no takers yet.

Those lovely Blue Birds are careful nest selectors. It took my nest a year of vacacy. The Blues came to inspect it but didn't settle in the first year. Until this spring and I encouraged them by providing meal worms feeder nearby. That sealed the deal so to speak. Once again, thanks to both. I can now close the thread.
