genus Chaenactis, species unknown

Prosper, TX(Zone 8a)

I had this growing in our backyard last September and luckily I got a few flower shots. The plant has since disappeared from our yard and all the limestone areas for 5 square miles. I really want to find these seeds and have a mass planting in a corner of my yard. Anyone know of these?

I looked up Chaenactis and didn't find anything to match, the flowers remind me of Palafoxia,

Wow! Your right Josephine and to think I searched thousands upon thousands of pages and pictures trying to find this. I never could find any Chaenactis that looked exactly like mine but the features and growth habits were strikingly close.

Time now for me to track down palafoxia. Thanks!

You are welcome Michael, I am glad I was able to help.

Well after a long wait I have another nice specimen size Palafoxia growing and I am saving all the seed for this one. I am planning on adding it as one of the flowers in my upcoming front yard transformation.
