I have a shady spot for some heuchera or dwarf hosta, and a very sunny, dry spot that needs some perennial groundcover. Perennial dianthus, creeping thyme (woolly, lemon, etc.), iceplant all look good. I'm on the border of zones 6 and 5, don't want something that can be invasive, but can help block weeds. Short is good. The sedum I have only looks good with constant weeding.
I have some sunburst st. john's wort and goldmound spirea - well rooted, large cuttings, to trade. Willing to pay postage+ for others.
CLOSED: Wanted - Heuchera, dwf hosta, creeping thyme, dianthus
Last year I started a xeric project for some very weedy lawn areas in full sun and got great results with daylily Kwanso, yarrows, irises, geraniums, Buddleias, a few mums and mints. I'm very happy with how they look together, the weeds have very little space left. I'd like to cover a large area so don't mind the plants to spread, they don't seem to be aggressive though. Also I'd recommend Ajuga, very pretty and tight growing. Most of the plants were easy to get in trades for me so good luck and happy gardening!
I hadn't thought of ajuga. The daylilies/iris are a great idea - I have them in other spots. I was concerned they might be too tall.
Thanks! :-)
You're welcome:) BTW there are quite a few dwarf daylilies and iris which look so cute. I'll probably have some dwarf iris to share later in the season, I like them a lot because they look neat even in winter!
I have enough thyme ( thanks, Mary!). I'm still open for more of the others.
I had LOADS of pink ice plant you can do postage for.
