What are These?

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

I keep finding these in my garden. I find them mainly in the veggie bed, so I'm thinking it's something that was in the compost pile.

Doesn't look like a Amaranth to me. I have lot's of those growing in my garden. I'll have to take a pic. Sort of almost looks like some type of mint. I could be wrong though.

Not Amaranth.
I have them too.
They show up in pots but I dont know what they are.

I am probably wrong on this one, but don't forget there are many types of amaranth.

At first, I thought it was some kind of basil, but there's no basil aroma. Guess I'll just keep pulling them out!

Yeah, it was just a thought. Good luck!

I would keep one and see what happens.

That's what I'll probably do, Josephine.

Dallas, TX

It look like the same plant I am trying to ID. I got two batches of it. It was there last year too.

Trenton(close to), TX(Zone 8a)

I have them by the thousands. I say off with their heads my dear lovely.

Alba, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes, I get those a lot. They are out in the pasture, too. I was thinking they were some sort of seed from the bird feeder......I just yank them.

My guess is Red Pigweed. (As Josephine IDed -- I found some other pictures and they are nearly identical).

Thanks Kate! I think I shall not let them stay in my garden.
