I bought a spaghetti squash maybe a month ago and kept it in my dark pantry. Well, they call them "keeper" squash, don't they? Last night I went to bake it and use as a noodle replacement for my Beef Stroganoff and this is what I found when I cut it open!!! I just thought it was too cool!! Janet
Looks as though your squash is raring to grow! If you were not more knowledgeable, you would probably think they were "worms".
I have had this happen with tomatoes, of all things! It's a bit creepy at first.

Very cool! I've seen apples and citrus do that. I had planted two grapefruit tree seeds from the inside germination. Did you plant these?
No, no room! But they were so crispy I wanted to eat them. But I'm afraid they went into the garbage. And yes, I'm a sinner. I don't COMPOST! Yet. :) Gotta get one of those self-contained composters one day so nothing is out in the open. We used to just throw stuff in a corner of the yard in our old house, but not in this neighborhood!! Sheesh. Houston neighborhoods! They're a blessing and a curse.
bariolio - maybe you could set up a worm compost bin in your home, or on the porch.

It was raring to grow. That was pretty neat.

One thing to note: Compost worms are different than earthworms found in your garden
Usually the place you buy the worm kit will either also sell compost worms, or will tell you where to buy them.
Or, you could buy them from "Worms Way" - they are all knowing when it comes to worms.
I would have had to plant at least one, just to see.
bariolio; Check out the Vermicomposting on Dave's Garden. You can set up a worm bin using 18 gallon totes from Wal$Mart. I don't have time to help you any more (going out fro a shrimp fry) Sorry Phil
